Industry Veterans Join WFSGI Bicycle Technical Committee

 

LAUSANNE, Switzerland – Claudio Marra (photo) of Full Speed Ahead and Mark Schroeder of Specialized join the newly created Bicycle Technical Committee of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI).

Both will hold the positions of Vice Chairmen supporting Chairman Dirk Bruynseraede of Ridley Bikes. The Bicycle Technical Committee will mainly handle all issues related to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and other technical related issues such as standards and regulations.

The Italian Claudio Marra, in the bicycle industry for 20 years, is the Managing Director of Full Speed Ahead (FSA) Europe. After his appointment he stated:“It’s an honour for me to be part of the World Federation as Vice Chairperson. I believe in the association and I’m glad to offer my contribution for the improvement and the support of the bike industry. For me it’s important to be an active part of this world and put my efforts day by day in order to develop new projects and crate something for the future of the federation.”

In the bicycle industry for 17 years, the US‐American Mark Schroeder has been Director of Engineering at Specialized Bicycle Components since 2002. “I have volunteered in this role with the intent to help WFSGI members collaborate with the UCI on a better handling of the rules”, says Marc Schroeder about his objective.
