BMC Switzerland and ZEG Start Cooperation
COLOGNE, Germany – On July 1, 2015 BMC Switzerland AG and the Zweirad Einkaufs Genossenschaft eG (ZEG) entered into a cooperation. For now the cooperation is targeted to the Dutch, Belgian and French markets.
BMC currently employs a staff of about 250 people. Headquartered in Grenchen, Switzerland is where the company also has its own carbon frame production and R&D facility called the Impec advanced R&D Lab. BMC is a renowned manufacturer of top class bikes ridden by the world’s top road racers including 2011 Tour winner Cadel Evans, 3-fold Amstel Gold race winner and world champion Philippe Gilbert in 2012 and the 2014 world champion Mountainbike Cross Country – Julien Absalon.
Europe’s biggest IBD cooperative
ZEG is Europe’s biggest cooperative of independent bicycle dealers with annual revenues of over 500 million euro and some 1,000 affiliated dealers. In the Netherlands ZEG has 160 member-dealers and in Belgium 40.
