Advocacy Summit Explores Industry’s Future at Eurobike
BRUSSELS, Belgium – The Advocacy Summit is the peak event for industry and advocacy collaboration. The 2017 edition looks at how the industry can use its growing influence to gain more political and financial support in the future.
Mobility and politics are changing fast. 50 million e-bikes on Europe’s roads by 2030? Cycling supported by politicians and policy makers in every country? €10 billion euro of new investments growing our market?
Lobbying shifting market
“Industry sponsored lobbying has been shifting the market in key cities and countries around Europe,” says Kevin Mayne, ECF Director of Development. The work of European Cyclists’ Federation supported by the Cycling Industry Club (CIC) makes this possible. “In Germany, the lobby group ADFC is ideally positioned to make the case for a bicycle focused future in Europe’s largest cycling market at the forthcoming elections with their campaign ‘Fahrradland Deutschland: Jetzt!’ (Germany Cycling Nation, Now!). Great progress in political support is being made in France where President Macron signed a pro-cycling pledge during his election campaign and the Paris Mayor is leading the way towards a car free city.”
At the 2017 Advocacy Summit the Cycling Industry Club will present where future market ‘hot-spots’ are emerging, and focus on how this can be replicated across Europe. Industry and advocacy leaders, including the ECF and CIC members, lead the way and share their vision with the rest of the industry at Eurobike 2017.
