European Commission Publishes Anti-Dumping Review Results
BRUSSELS, Belgium – Tomorrow, Thursday March 21, 2013 the European Commission Directory General Trade will publish its disclosure document on the interim review for the anti-dumping measures on bikes made in China that are exported to Europe.
The European Commission initiated the interim review on March 9, 2012. For this review DG Trade held hearings, mailed questionnaires to producers and visited companies. This investigation is now finalized and the findings are in the disclosure document.
This disclosure document will be published tomorrow, March 21, 2013. The document will be mailed to all companies that participated in the review investigation.
It goes without saying that the disclosure document will indicate what the European Commission will decide on the 48.5% anti-dumping duties that are currently levied on bikes made in China which are imported into Europe. The European Commission is legally forced to publish that decision no later than June 9, 2013.
Interesting is that the European Bicycle Manufacturers’ Association (EBMA) is organizing a meeting coming Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Taipei International Cycle Show. The meeting will of course be about the findings that are in the disclosure document, but will also go into changing the structure of the association.
