Equinox Wheel Testing
Equinox wheels chose a little exotic way to show quality of their wheels. In the recent Cycle ball video, you can see triple world UCI champion Petr Jiricek and his colleague Marcel Waldisprühl performing on carbon wheels made by this Europian brand.
According to both athletes, the ball weighs between 500 to 600 grams and reaches momentum in which it can easily break someones nose. Slow motion shots also show incredible stiffness of the wheel despite uncommon nature of the movement.
“We are playing on testing prototypes for two years now,” says Jiricek, who helped develop Equinox Cycle ball wheel. “Our colleagues won’t believe first, that carbon wheels were suitable for Cycle ball, but now the whole team plays on them. Hopefully, no one is thinking that carbon wheels are fragile at this point. Equinox is joint venture with Taiwanese Gigantex and the brand makes whole range of wheels, mostly for road racing.”
