ULFT, Netherlands (November 26th) - Dutch bicycle manufacturer Multicycle has revamped the idea of a bike lock blocking the bracket axle. Multicycle has developed a virtually unbreakable combination of a bracket and a vertical locking pin hidden in the frame tube. The cilinder is pick-free (with a Phillips screwdriver-type key) and the locked bike is useless as such. Multicycle have applied for an ART lock approval, a prerequisite for lower insurance fees. Although production cost is high, Multicycle expects that their brainchild will sell among the bike-conscious Dutch bike user. Multicycle make 25,000 exclusively high end 'complete' (=with mudguards, racks, lighting, locks) touring bicycles and hybrids, originally with a one-colour strategy like Bianchi, but gradually grown out to a full range of respectable, if not exciting colors.(OB)
