COLOGNE, Germany (December 11th) - The ZEG is starting activities in France as of January 1st , 2004. It means Europe's biggest IBD/purchasing-organization is expanding into its fifth country. Currently the Cologne based retail organization is active in Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, and Belgium where its has about 800 member/dealers. Recently the ZEG stopped trading in Switzerland mainly because this country isn't a member of the European Union.
According to ZEG Director Egbert Hageböck, the 'Zweirad Experten Gruppe' (ZEG) appointed Hans Joachim Retzlaff as its manager in France who will start from February 1st, 2004. Retzlaff used to work at Cycleurope France. Hageböck didn't want to go into the goals the ZEG has set for its activities in France. He said: "We will start per January 1st, 2004 and just take it from there."(JO)
