GAND, Belgium (April 7) - In its recent letter to European Bicycle Manufacturers' Association (EBMA) the association for European retailers asks why the EBMA isn't taking the legal steps that can be enforced straight away against the influx of China made bicycles into the European Union. "The European anti-dumping legislation does offer ample opportunity to take steps against the current evolution of Chinese imports. The EBMA can request for an interim review or for a reinvestigation. Moreover, they can also take action on the basis of a recently introduced transitional safeguard mechanism specifically developed for China," says the ETRA in its letter that also states: "As the representative of the Community industry, it is up to the EBMA to take up dumping matters with the European authorities."
