Accell Combines Acquired Companies

HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (September 23) – The companies that were recently acquired by Dutch Accell, will be integrated into one large wholesale division. The companies concerned are Juncker, Van Buuren and children’s bike specialist Loekie. Where Loekie BV is concerned, this will mean a move from Kesteren to the new location Veenendaal. The majority of staff will move with the company, except director Ron Hout, who will leave the company. A new sales manager has been found in the person of Wilma de Ruiter, who is at present the marketing manager at Batavus. The recently acquired wholesaler Van Buuren & Co will be fully integrated into the new set-up, which means the Amsterdam location of the company will be closed at the end of this year. Van Buuren’s sales director, Ralph Prins will become sales manager at Juncker, while the owner of Van Buuren, Jaap Wijnschenk will become advisor within the Accell Group. The production of Burco bicycles, which was still done on the premises of Van Buuren in Amsterdam, will be taken over by Accell’s Sparta. The 13-strong staff of Van Buuren will be incorporated into the Accell workforce. This integration will lead to a wholesale centre located in Veenendaal, in the heart of the Netherlands, with an estimated turnover of a couple of tens of millions. It will be lead by Jos de Winter, who was already the general director of Juncker BV. (JO)
