HCM City, Vietnam (September 28) - The Vietnam Bicycle and Motorcycle Association (VBMA) has sent a document to the European Commission (EC), rejecting allegations that Vietnamese bicycle makers dump their products in the EU market. VBMA Deputy Chairman Le Anh Tuan said the document was also sent to the European Bicycle Manufacturers Association (EBMA), and the European Twowheeler Retailers’ Association. The EC is conducting investigations on the EBMA's dumping accusation about Vietnamese bicycles.
Statistics released by the EU showed that Vietnam exported 1.3 million bicycles to the market last year, holding an 8.2% market share. Exports are estimated at 1.5 million units this year. (MH)
