MAARSSEN, Netherlands (October 21) The Amsterdam MotorRai show had an extra surprise for the careful listener: strong show-floor rumours confirm what has been in the air for a while: IFMA Cologne might get the motorcycle show ‘back’. A combined show might just be the thing the IFMA needs at the moment, and according to the rumours we picked up, changes are that this will happen. Intermot, the Munich show that drew 185.000 visitors in its’ first year, is now seeing that number drop another reason to combine the two shows. If both IFMA and Intermot are facing low(er) numbers of visitors, their best chance of renewed success might be to hold both events under one roof again. And after all, bicycles and motorcycles have lived peacefully under the same roof for decades, not to mention the cross-over interest from visitors and exhibitors alike. (MH)
