PALMA DE MALLORCA, Spain (Jan 24) – What should have been a delightful weekend of test-biking on the sunny island of Mallorca, ended in a small tragedy for our colleague Otto Beaujon. An unfortunate fall with his bike left him seriously injured – a shattered hip. Rushed to hospital, he has been successfully operated upon yesterday and received an artificial hip, but he was already sounding quite perky when we called him today.
To our readers this might be considered proof that Bike Europe editors go to (and sometimes cross!) all possible limits to deliver quality articles. As has now become clear, sometimes even involving staking life and limb, just to get you the best coverage possible...
If you feel the need to convey your sympathies to our unfortunate colleague, please use our office address: RBI / Bike Europe P.O.Box 1110, 3600 BC, The Netherlands - I sure hope his desk will be covered in cards when he returns…(MH)
