BIKE EUROPE: MAARSSEN, Netherlands (April 19) - After a three-year hiatus, Kore Cycling Components Inc. is coming back with exciting new products geared toward ‘core’ cyclists of all disciplines. Founded in 1993 by Californian machinists Charlie and Martin Kurke, KORE developed a reputation of making well-designed, no-nonsense components for serious cyclists, and were featured on many famous brand bicycles. Led by Lance Bohlen, a 20-year bike industry veteran whose ‘palmeres’ include successful product management positions with Rocky Mountain in Canada, Decathlon in France, Specialized in California and most recently Pacific Cycle in Wisconsin - and with input from the Kurke brothers - Kore Cycling Components will be re-invigorated by some of the most experienced, passionate and dedicated cycling minds in the business. “As a product manager, I was often disappointed sitting across the table getting pitched ‘sketchy’ products by companies that didn’t really ‘get it’ when it came to knowing what core cyclists really want. Instead of thinking ‘I could do better’ or ‘why did they do THAT?’ I’m now in a position of being able to direct the product the way I know it should be,” Lance said. Expect to see new handlebars, stems, and spacers, a new I-Beam saddle and seat post geared toward serious road cyclists, new grips, control cables, and high quality wheels featuring welded 6066 rims and adjustable sealed bearing hubs. Of course carbon components are under development as are a number of other top-secret innovative products. The official launch of the new product range will be during the 2005 fall trade shows of Eurobike and InterBike. The KORE web site www.kore-usa.com is being overhauled and will be re-launched at about the same time. (press release via Triathlete Mag Interactive)
