Kross Expands
COLOGNE, Germany (Oct 5) - Polish bicycle producer Kross recently opened a subsidiary in Cologne serving the German-speaking and Benelux countries. And they started assembling in Russia for the Eastern-European market. Plus, Kross signed a distribution agreement with US bicycle producer Pacific Cycle for distributing the Mongoose brand exclusively in Germany and the Schwinn brand exclusively in Poland. Kross has been in business for just 15 years and produced around 850,000 units in 2005. In its home market Kross has a strong 45% market share. And due to the EU anti dumping duties against bicycle products from China, it is expected that the Polish company will increase its export business. And according to ongoing rumors Kross will soon work with a new EU customer: Decathlon. (JB)
