MUNICH, Germany (Dec 13) – It was reported yesterday on the website of ‘BikeBizz’, the trade journal for the UK and has now been confirmed by Oliver Hatch. He was dismissed on Friday, just an hour before the start of a meeting to discuss the 2007 cycle planning conference in Munich. Reason for the dismissal was a dispute with Manfred Neun, President of the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF).
Hatch has worked on the pan-European Velo-City conference for 22 years and latterly was the series director. In March, Hatch was ‘thrown off’ the UK's National Cycling Strategy Board. "I am no longer working for ECF as the Velo-city Series Director," Hatch has written in an email to colleagues.
