Pacific Cycle Enters China Market with Mongoose

'Brand recognition is China is picking up,' said Pacific Cycle new business development manager Bruno Maier on the reasons why America´s biggest bike supplier is entering the Chinese market. That fact combined with a market that offers a yearly sales volume of about 24 million units and a growth rate of 4 to 5% per year, made Pacific Cycle also to contemplate on opening several Mongoose concept stores in China. However, the main reason for launching Mongoose in China are the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing where BMX for the fist time will take part as an Olympic Sport. Pacific Cycle sees that as a great opportunity to break open the Chinese market for its BMX brand Mongoose. The company is doing that not only by finalizing partnerships with regional distributors, but also by sponsoring the Chinese National BMX Team which was presented at the Shanghai Show.
