Eurobike Gets Sister Bike Trade Show in USA

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Messe Friedrichshafen announced today that it will organize in September 2007 a bike trade show in the USA. It will be a direct competitor for the Interbike Show that is held every year at the end of September in Las Vegas.
According to Stefan Reisinger, Eurobike Project Manager at Messe Friedrichshafen, the name and exact date of the new show has not been fixed yet. “However, what I can say is that it will be organized between mid and end of September in Portland, Oregon.” 
Erich Reiss, who is the USA representative for Messe Friedrichshafen, said: “The discontent with the current bike trade show in US, urged us to initiate the new show that will get the same high standards as Eurobike. That we are organizing it in Portland has to do with the fact that this is a major city in the US with the best facilities for bicycles.”
Rolf Mohne, Messe Friedrichshafen MD added that the new show will be organized along the same basic principles that made Eurobike the biggest bike show in the world, but of course suited for US companies and dealers. Klaus Wellmann who will succeed Mohne beginning 2007, said that the new show will support Eurobike further as the leading bike show in the world.
