EICMA Bici and Moto Together Again in 2007

MILAN, Italy - EICMA Bici and Moto will be joined again in 2007. After this month’s 64th edition of the motorcycle & scooter EICMA, that took place from 14 – 19 November, Show Manager Costantino Ruggiero announced that he intends to increase the strength of both shows by again joining them. However, for bicycles only there will also be an EICMA trade show much earlier in the year, already in July!
This year’s EICMA Moto was a huge success with over half a million visitors despite bad weather in the North of Italy and also some competing events. “This is much better than we expected,” said Costantino Ruggiero. “It is even record breaking with the total of 530,000 visitors; 30.000 more than in 2005.”
Over 40 years of its 64 years existence EICMA was a combined bicycle and Powered Two-Wheeler event. 16 years ago EICMA Bici was seperated from the motorcycle show and re-scheduled to September as a respons to explicit wishes from the Italian bicycle industry. However, for 2007 Ruggiero is again combining both shows and with that increasing the strength of the events. The 65th International Cycle Show will be held in Fiera Milano from 8th to 11th November 2007, partly overlapping the Motorcycle Show, which will begin two days earlier. But there will also be a bike show earlier in the year; even already in July! It will take place in the new Fiera Milano under the name of "EICMA Pre View". According to Ruggiero, the event will stand out for its very low exhibition costs and a particularly attractive location, in relation to the date. Only companies already registered at EICMA 2007 will be permitted to take part in EICMA Pre View. The exact date for this strictly B2B show are yet to be announced.
