FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Eurobike organizer Messe Friedrichshafen will have a ‘Demo Day’ preceding the opening of the actual 2007 show. Their example, of course, are the Outdoor Demo Days as organized by Interbike in Las Vegas.
Messe Friedrichshafen, claiming that they have toyed with the idea for a longer time, now have found what they think is an apt location for such a dealer-, demo- and tryout day: just across the border into Austria, 10 minutes from the end of the highway in Lindau and maybe 40 from Friedrichshafen and Ravensburg. The place is called Eichenberg (Oak Mountain), and Demo Day is scheduled on Wednesday 29 August (Eurobike opens on 30 August).
The formula, as Stefan Reisinger (Eurobike’s project manager) describes it, is that: “IBD’s and media people can do short or long, on- and offroad test rides on the newest models on signposted roads, have a beer, discuss the newest trends and to do business in a cool atmosphere.” The Demo day is Eurobike’s initial answer on this years’visitor’s survey that asked for an additional day to see the plethora of new stuff.(JB)
