Shimano Upgrades and Expands its Service Center Concept

NUNSPEET, The Netherlands - Shimano has drastically renewed its Service Center concept; the ‘shop-in-shop’ and workshop format that was introduced twelve years ago for (bigger) road race and MTB dealers. Even a Masterplan was developed for the new Service Centers. Biggest features are the introduction of narrow casting and the broadened scope  to Comfort bikes. With that the component maker is looking for more dealers in Europe to incorporate this exclusive concept in their shops.
Currently about 900 dealers in Europe have the Shimano Service Center in their shops of which about 90 in the Benelux. At these 90 dealers the new Service Centers are now being installed; an operation that will be completed by the end of 2007. The about 800 dealers in other European countries can have the new Service Centers fitted during 2008. With the broadened scope to Comfort Bikes and by making the concept more attractive to comfort dealers, the number of Shimano Service Centers is to increase to about 1,250 across Europe.
