CALEPPIO DI SETTALA, Italy - A year ago Gruppo started a project to re-launch and restructure its business. In 2006, new shareholders who believed in the huge potential of Gruppo's plans, joined the company. Yesterday the company announced its decision to concentrate all investments in Gruppo's renowned brands: Cinelli and Columbus.
“Our new strategy is to focus on our core business, defined as: developing innovative top level products, with the unique Italian design features that have clearly identified our brands in the past, rather than spreading into other areas of the market”, says Antonio Colombo, President of Gruppo S.p.A.. “This strategy is not a change of direction, but an opportunity to strengthen the company mission as outlined since the beginning.”
As this website reported last week, Gruppo sold the 3T trade mark to Dutch entrepreneur René Wiertz, CEO of Full Shine International Ltd, a company based in Hong Kong. “Some 3T products could overlap with Cinelli products, competing for the same strategic markets,” explains Antonio Colombo. “The cash flow generated by the sale of the 3T trade brand will be invested in the development of new Columbus and Cinelli products.”
Gruppo/3T sales will continue for one year and deliveries of current and new orders will be guaranteed by goods in stock.
