MALLABIA, Spain – Bike manufacturer Orbea has signed a distribution agreement with apparel company Orca. The deal will see Orbea act as the exclusive distributor of Orca products in key global markets, outside the company’s traditionally strong bases in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria.
Orbea and Orca will be present together at major trade shows in coming months including EuroBike and InterBike.
Orca is one of the leading companies in triathlon apparel. “This agreement is one of the most significant moments in the history of the New Zealand brand”, says Scott Unsworth, founder and CEO of Orca. “With Orbea handling all distribution, we can focus on product research, design and development, innovation, production and marketing.”
Miguel Ocaña, Managing Director of Orbea, anticipates the benefits of working closely with a sister company like Orca. “Our strength is in hi-tech hardware and Orca’s is in soft goods, but when you look at products from each company, you can see how well our philosophies will mesh. We both strive to make the best and the best-looking products in our categories.”
