US Bicycle Conference Opens Registration

SAN DIEGO, USA -  The elimination of dumping & import tariffs on Bike products is one of the topics that will be addressed at the upcoming 11th edition of the Bicycle Leadership Conference (BLC) in San Diego, USA. Here retailers, suppliers and the advocacy sector is gathering to discuss the industry’s challenges and thought-provoking issues. The conference will be held January 18th-20.

The 2008 BLC will be hosted by the Bicycle Products Suppliers’ Association (BPSA). According to the BPSA chairman John Nedeau of SRAM: “the Bicycle Leadership Conference will be more inclusive and issue-driven. To that end, we are directing independent researchers to take a fresh look at how we can do a better job of growing participation in cycling at all sectors of the market and across the supply chain.”

The BLC research will address the following topics:

• Channel issues, including where and how consumers are buying now, making the product development process more relevant and effective, improving response to market trends, and incorporating best practices from related industries.
• Product portfolio challenges including brand differentiation, customer net lifetime value, broadening the customer base, development process.
• Advocacy and awareness, and how these disciplines can drive cycling participation in at all levels.
