Rumour: Two Taipei Cycle Shows in 2008?

MAARSSEN, The Netherlands – It is rumoured that the organizer of the Taipei International Cycle Show is considering to host two shows this year; the regular one that is scheduled for 13 – 16 March, 2008 and another one to be held in December, 2008.

At a December 12, 2007 press conference it became clear that TAITRA (organizer of the Taipei Int’l Cycle Show) is considering earlier dates for its International Cycle Show. Here Vice President Walter Yeh stated that he is very aware of all the mini trade shows that took place last December in Taichung, Taiwan.

Taipei Cycle Show in December?

Yeh said that TAITRA will talk to the organizers of these shows as well as to key players and the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters Association (TBEA) how hooking the Taipei Int’l Cycle Show more on to the current spec cycle of the bike industry. A Taipei Cycle Show held in December will perfectly fit that spec cycle.

However, as it looks now the rumour on that second show is not based on facts. Bike Europe asked Clark Kuo, TAITRA Project Manager of the Cycle Show about it and he said: “As far as we know, the rumour is not true. In 2008, there will be only one Taipei Cycle Show held in March.”
