Decathlon Speaker at European Sport Conference
EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands – The University of Technology of Eindhoven will be the venue for the first European Conference on Sport and Innovation taking place from March 12 – 14. Speakers, like Philippe Freychat, R&D Director of Decathlon, have agreed to take part.
The economic and social value of sport is being increasingly recognised. European sports companies and organisations are actively focusing on opportunities and the needs of European consumers. To do this effectively, a European approach to sport and innovation is very important. Therefore the European sports industry has founded Innosport.EU.
Latest European Developments
This project has created a new dimension in European partnerships between knowledge institutes, government and the business community, in the field of innovation. This first European conference on Sport and Innovation concludes the project and gives visitors the chance to find out about the latest European developments in the field of sport and innovation, looking ahead to Sport Vision 2015.
Sport Vision 2015 gives a detailed look at the effects of sport on the economy, trends, needs and innovation opportunities. At the conference the ‘European Sports Innovation Platform’ will be announced. This is a networking platform at European level for high-tech companies, knowledge institutes and government, with the aim of joining forces in innovation and creating new opportunities as a result.
The Innosport.EU project consortium has 12 European members and is supported by the European Commission. This project runs currently and is coordinated by Alberto Bichi, secretary general of the European sporting goods industry federation (FESI).
