A-Team: Counter Price Increases with Added Value
TAIPEI, Taiwan – Today the A-Team; the organisation in which Taiwan bike and components makers together with supporting members from the US and Europe cooperate, held their 2008 General Meeting. Here the 2007 achievements and goals for 2008 were discussed.
As for 2007, apart for a further enhancement on Total Quality Management for the Taiwan producers, one other special achievement stood out. That was the fact that the A-Team wants to transform Taiwan into a cycling island which Giant Chairman King Liu more or less started when he at the age of 73 toured the island by bike. Not only inspired this project aims to get more people on bikes in Taiwan, but also sales which were up 25% in Taiwan in 2007.
As for the 2008 goals of the A-Team, Chairman Tony Lo told the members about the current facts that influence strongly cost-prices. Facts like the pressure on the US Dollar and of course the price increases. He called upon the A-Members to counter these price increases with extra spending on R&D and on adding value to bikes and bike products.
