Sources say that the organization of the Taichung Bike Week, as an alternative of the Taipei Cycle Show is well under way. Local business men are getting all parties concerned together to create a solid event in the bike business calendar as of 2010. To get the most out of it, the show might be moving to Taichung and get two editions to satisfy all market parties involved.
Is the global bike industry happy with this new situation? Or is it just a matter of a changing market situation on which the Taiwanese have to respond quickly as there are more rivals in the field. In past years several new shows from China mainland have been knocking on the door. Until now they did not manage to obtain a foothold in the high-end bicycle industry, but that might change very quickly.
