BRUSSELS, Belgium – Right in front of the European Commission headquarter; on the esplanade of the Berlaymont-building, in the heart of Brussels’ European district, bikes and other clean vehicles will be demonstrated in an initiative by the European TwoWheeler Retailers’ Association, ETRA.
This demonstration will take place on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 June, 2008 in the framework of the Green Week, organized by the European Commission. ETRA was granted the possibility to set up a test track for bicycles and for emission-free motorised two-wheelers at the Berlaymont-building.
The objective of the event is to show the participants of the Green Week how two-wheelers can be part of the solution to environmental and other problems and what the state of the art in the field of two-wheelers is.
The demonstration of clean vehicles which for the biggest part will be bikes, will take place on a big test track. ExtraEnergy will built the track that will include a small ramp to show the benefits of pedelecs and e-Bikes. But, the demonstration will not be limited to electric bicycles only, but will also include all sorts of other bicycles and other clean twowheeled vehicles.
For the supply of these vehicles, ETRA is calling upon companies in the European bike sector to come forward as soon as possible. Participation is open to anybody who can present a state of the art fully emission-free vehicle, component and/or accessory.
