BikeAsia Shifts Dates To Before Taipei 09
SINGAPORE – A new element emerged in the ongoing discussion about the dates for Taipei Cycle. After its premiere mid April, the new Asian bicycle and motorcycle show, BikeAsia has set its dates for next year at February 27th to March 1st.
That’s two weeks before the preliminary dates for the Taipei Cycle Show 2009. In their drive to gain importance the Singapore show, co-organized by EICMA, is defying the Taiwanese to be the first on the show calendar.
Although the number of visitors was less than expected the organization of BikeAsia reports to be very satisfied with the first edition which took place from April 10th until 13th. Some 1,500 trade visitors attended the show mainly from the neighboring ASEAN countries and India, Australia and Japan. On Saturday and Sunday 15,000 consumers visited the show.
The design section “The Designer’s hand” was much appreciated by visitors and exhibitor. It was a major contribution to the show and expressed the importance of design for the TwoWheel industry as well as the importance of the industry for the economy in general.
