Eurobike Changed Opening Hours Again: Whats Your Opinion?
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – In order to find a solution for the traffic problems during the Eurobike show, Messe Friedrichshafen has been shifting the opening hours. At the first announcement the new closing hours was set at 8.00 pm. This caused a lot of turmoil.
The results of the Poll on the Bike Europe website showed that most trade visitors and exhibitors were not happy at all with the new opening hours. 40% of the over 400 voters said it was “A very bad idea to close at 8.00 pm. as the organizers were ignoring the fact that a lot of business is also done after show hours.” 23% of all voters wanted to keep the timing as it is. 21% of all voters stated to be very happy with the plans of the Messe Friedrichshafen as it would bring an extra hour to take care of all the business at this super busy show. Only 16% voted for: “Good; as it will help to reduce Eurobikes big traffic problems.”
After consultations with exhibitors and trade visitors the Eurobike organizers recently decided to bring the trade show’s official closing time forward to 7:00 pm. “We hope that this fine-tuning will provide better access to the trade show by avoiding the rush-hours,” said Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. On the trade days the doors will open at 10:00 am as earlier announced. It will give some relieve to traffic and leave space to do business after show hours.
