DARMSTADT, Germany – Last Saturday, Riese & Müller, launched a new range of pedelecs. “After we decided to enter this rapidly growing market it took us two years to develop this new product line and we expect it will become our most important product range”, says Heiko Müller, Managing Director of Riese & Müller.
The pedelec range fits very well into the high-end sector of the bike market this company is aiming for since its start.
Riese & Müller is using its renowned Birdy as the platform for its new pedelec. It kept its major features despite the addition of the electric system like its characteristic full suspension frame design while the Birdy is still easy to fold, although it weighs 18 kilogram. The battery pack is mounted on the handlebar; hidden in a small bag.
Another new Riese & Müller pedelec is the Jetstream that comes in a full suspension version. Here the battery pack is integrated in the down tube where it can be taken out to simplify recharging.
Targeting more sportive users Riese & Müller has chosen to electrify the existing Delite with a 500 Watt motor that enables a support up to 45 km/h. Riese & Müller is using BionX engines and controllers. The three new bikes will be launched at the upcoming Eurobike Show.
