Hayes Bicycle Group Restructures Operations
MEQUON, US - Hayes Bicycle Group has restructured its Wisconsin-based operations as part of a re-organization. A number of positions at its Mequon and Milwaukee facilities were affected. The European and Asian operations are unaffected, and no further personnel reductions are planned.
Kurt Person, who became HBG’s General Manager earlier this year, states, “this action is part of a comprehensive plan to refocus and reorganize the Hayes Bicycle Group.”
“Our immediate focus is on quality and delivery and on the long term we want to return our brands to leadership positions in the bicycle industry. This has been made all the more critical by recent increases in material costs and the resultant market challenges. Our market share has been affected by issues of quality, delivery, and costs.”
More Competitive
“We are listening to the market carefully to streamline our product offering. This will improve our operational efficiency and our entire value stream. Adjusting our cost structure in the US headquarters will make us more competitive.”
The Hayes Bicycle Group is the parent company of Hayes Disc Brakes, Manitou, Answer, SUNringle, and Wheelsmith.
