CHICAGO, US - SRAM Corporation has made major adjustments in the management and sales structure of its European operation. As a result, Martin van Beek General Manager of SRAM Europe has decided to leave the company. All changes are effective immediately.

“Things change and companies change too; different styles of management are appropriate at different stages during life cycles of companies” explains Martin van Beek to Bike Europe. “I understand there was a desire to make a change as a result of a new investor at SRAM so the European organization development that we’re seeing is not illogical.” Martin van Beek has been with SRAM since 1993.

Significant contributions

“We appreciate the significant contributions Martin made to growing SRAM’s European business and establishing SRAM as a leading component provider to the bike industry”, says John Nedeau Vice President Sales of SRAM Corporation. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

In the new management structure Robert Priest, formerly head of Global Aftermarket Sales has assumed Director of Sales for all OE and Aftermarket in Europe. Robert also maintains responsible for SRAM’s dealer marketing. Patrick Brandwigt will assume General Management responsibilities for SRAM Europe overseeing SRAM’s Amersfoort location and customer service operation.

“With my experience, network and proven track record I am confident that new opportunities will present themselves”, Martin continues. “In a few months I will finish my long overdue MBA education which I am looking forward to. I might decide to work on a project basis for companies in the bike industry; this could be acquisition integration related, interim management - or business process related.”

“I am sure that SRAM will maintain a high level growth company in our industry for the next years; they have strong management, dedicated people all over the world and external factors that fuel industry growth in general.”
