FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – Before the start of the biggest bicycle show on earth all indicators were clear that this year’s edition of the Eurobike would be successful in terms of attendance and the number of exhibitors.

FILM REPORT OF EUROBIKE SEE BELOW

The jam packed corridors on the opening day were a clear sign that Messe Friedrichshafen has again proven to be able to attract more visitors than in previous years. Their strategy to present Eurobike as “the show not to be missed” and “leading the trends” remains successful. On the closing day, Messe Friedrichshafen reported 36.800 trade visitors, a growth of more than 7% compared with last year.

Eurobike 2008 has been the largest exhibition ever organized by Messe Friedrichshafen. The whole Messe Friedrichshafen including the neighboring Zeppelin hall was filled up to the top with booths. The 85,000 square meter fairground housed a total of 936 exhibitors from 36 countries.

The high demand of exhibition space and the long waiting list of exhibitors even forced the organization to use one of the two new halls which is still under construction. Next year two new halls will be finished and ready for use allowing more exhibitors on the show floor. However, with the quickly rising popularity of this show it is questionable if this enlargement will be sufficient to meet demand by exhibitors in the years to come.

Demo Day

After a rainy premiere in 2007 the second edition of the Demo Day in Argenbühl was blessed with sunshine. The town of Argenbühl proved to be the ideal location for this popular industry event. 1,400 trade visitors and 370 media representatives visited the Demo Day base camp.
