BEVERWIJK, The Netherland – Folding bike specialist Oyama is setting foot in Europe through Dutch Blomson International BV. At the Bike Motion Show in Utrecht, The Netherlands which will open its doors next Friday afternoon, the European Oyama folders are premiered. But this is just the first step as Oyama and Blomson’s general manager Maurice Blom (photo) are planning a full scale entry on the European market.

At the basis of this entry is a complete range that consist of 8 models which vary from gear hub models up to lightweight derailleur folding bikes. This range is currently being developed and is especially targeted to the European market. Blomson International will launch this program at the 2009 Eurobike Show. However, in the meantime the company is already looking for distributors throughout Europe.

Blomson International is a Dutch bike supplier who is also selling Electra (cruiser models), BeOne (MTBs and road racers) as well as Montego (City & Trekking bikes) to dealers in the Benelux as well as distributors in various European countries. Oyama fits in the strategy of general manager Maurice Blom to turn Blomson International into a full line bike supplier that next to the Benelux countries has set its sights on Europe.

For its Oyama business and to support the distributors of the Taiwan made folders, Blomson International will stock the bikes at its logistics center in Nieuwleusen, Holland and at the company’s HQ in Beverwijk, The Netherlands. Next to that it will be possible to order direct container shipments from Taiwan. Blomson International is also representing Oyama for new OEM business.
