EICMA Bici Changing Dates?
MILAN, Italy – After closing its doors last Sunday evening it was clear that the 2008 EICMA has been a successful event again attracting some 500.000 visitors. It also made clear that the concept of the EICMA Moto is appealing large crowds. However whether that also counts for EICMA Bici is doubtful.
When organizer ANCMA will evaluate the show later this month a complete new concept for EICMA will be discussed. The show organizer has advanced plans to set up a new business to business event during the summer of 2009. This should ward off all critics on EICMA Bici being to late for the bicycle industry.
"Consider several options"
EICMA director Costantino Ruggiero (see photo): “We will consider several options but this is the most favourable one. In the past new products were launched at the Taipei Show in March, while today these presentations for product managers takes place in December."
"Times have changed and dates have shifted. That’s why we think the Italian industry needs dealer presentations in June or July for their new products. For consumers however, the timing in November is the best option.”
