MAARSSEN, Netherlands – This week’s rumour is about the German Schaeffler Group that took over Continental last September. It is said that Continental’s tyre division which is up for sale is about to be taken over.
Who the take over party will be is getting clearer as there are only two companies left that are interested. Rumour is that both Bridgestone and Michelin are looking at it. How this will affect each division of bicycle, motorcycle, passenger car and truck tyres is of course not clear yet. But it is likely that Continental bike tyres will also be available under the new owner.
