TAIPEI, Taiwan - At today’s press conference the organizer of the Taipei Int'l Cycle Show, the Taiwan Trade Development Council (TAITRA) announced that the 2009 Taipei Cycle Show is not affected by the economic downturn. On the contrary, the show is even bigger than last year’s event. In fact the Nangang venue where the Taipei Cycle will take place for the second time, is fully booked.
The focus of next year’s event is on bike repairs which is of course related to the financial crisis which is expected to raise the demand for replacement parts.
The 2009 Taipei Int'l Cycle Show will host 770 national and international exhibitors on a 52,000 square meter show ground. On March 17 - 20 2009 over 60,000 visitors are expected; 5,000 trade visitors and 55,000 consumers. On March 20 the show is open to the public.
With regard to transport to the show, there’s no change to this year’s event. The Metro line to Nangang is not finished yet. As this year the show organization will again provide shuttle busses for transport to the hotels in Taipei.
