DUARTE, California – In close cooperation with the local distributor, Dahon has opened its first flagship store in Taiwan. The store features over 1,000 square feet of retail space and is located next to one of Taiwan’s busiest bike paths in Taichung County, Taiwan’s bicycle manufacturing center.
“The opening of a flagship store in Taiwan marks a milestone for us and confirms the strong demand seen for folding bicycles both in Taiwan and the world in general”, stated Joshua Hon, Dahon vice president. “We are dedicated to continually improving our products and service and this flagship store is part of our commitment to providing this to our customers.”
“With the current air of economic uncertainty and the recent spike in gas prices, cycling is becoming an increasingly viable form of transportation for many people in addition to just being a recreational activity,” noted Hon.
“In the past several years, the popularity of cycling in Taiwan has rocketed. The demand for folding bikes has been strong as city governments around the island have made a concerted effort to improve and expand biking infrastructure.
Besides the flagship store in Taiwan, there are currently already one hundred Dahon concept stores in China.
