TAICHUNG, Taiwan – The OE mini trade shows that are taking place this week in various hotels in Taichung, Taiwan are joining forces. Next to that they are getting the support of the Taichung City Government for organizing a new bike industry event.
At yesterday’s dinner part hosted by Taichung mayor Jason Hu and Anne Wang (photo) of the City Government, they announced to prepare plans in the coming week for a bike industry event that is to take place in 2009. Name of then event will be Taichung Bike Week. Under this name all the current mini trade shows (Ride-On, Taichung Bike Week, First-in-Performance, Taiwanthon and Surf-On) will join forces and present themselves as one show.
Whether that show will also take place under one roof is not yet clear for the 2009 event. However, for the longer term it is one of the goals of an industry team that in cooperation with the Taichung City Government is to develop this industry event further.
Objectives of the event are bringing people and companies together for the specking of bikes for the next modelyear. Other goals for this industry team that is to be headed by Ride-On organizer Mike Johnston, are to organize the event in a low budget and efficient manner with private meetings and closed off meeting rooms.
