Taichung OE Mini Shows 2009
TAICHUNG, Taiwan – Following up on our news on the OE mini trade shows that took place in Taichung, Taiwan last week (see the December 9 e-mail Newsletter and the Bike Europe website); the dates for the 2009 events have been set. The mini shows will take place December 8-13 in 2009.
It’s not yet clear if the 5 different shows will take place under one name - Taichung Bike Week. However, that the 5 mini shows have already decided on the 2009 dates, indicates that the process of joining forces is taking place. The same goes for the support of the Taichung City Government which is to initiate the founding of an organization committee.
Steve Fenton, one of the organizers of the Taichung Bike Week who announced the 2009 dates further said about next year’s mini shows: “Basically next year will be organised to allow OEM customers to come together under a fixed date and know who is where and on what dates. Linked to this a series of seminars will be announced so pre booking will also allow people to manage their time.
“A range of hotels will be offered with fixed rates both for exhibitors and visitors. A demo area can be used closer to town with both road and MTB facilities. Packages with airlines will hopefully be in place that will allow people to fly into Hong Kong then straight into Taichung. Within the next 4 weeks we have a detailed view on the 2009 events and we will make a full presentation to all concerned at the Taipei Cycle Show.”
