BRUSSELS, Belgium--Accell CEO René Takens will most likely become the next chairman of the Comite de Liason des Fabricants Européens de Bicyclettes, better known as COLIBI, the organization that represents the interests of European bicycle manufacturers. Takens, who has been at the helm of Europe's third largest bicycle group since last September, could be named chairman later today during a COLIBI meeting.
Since the recent departure of former COLIBI chairman Brian Montgomery, the organization's vice president Eddie Eccleston has functioned as acting chairman. (JW)
