BRUSSELS, Belgium – Incidents have not been reported yet, despite the fact that the European Union has decided to recall all bicycle helmets model Sonic Star A336, made by Universal Protectors in China.
Although the helmets were labelled with the CE mark it does not comply with the Personal Protective Equipment Directive 89/686/EEC and the relevant European standard EN 1078. Additional tests have shown that this helmet poses a risk of injuries because it does not comply with requirements for protection against impact and penetration. It may therefore cause a serious head injury to the user in the case of a fall.
The combined red, yellow and blue Sonic Star A336 helmet is packed in a plastic bag closed with a cardboard label and wears the codename EAN 8594033003364.
