MELBOURNE, Australia – It took a few days before Nielsen Business Media, organizer of the Interbike Show in Las Vegas became aware of the launch of Interbike Australia. Interbike has been rolling out its successful concept outside the US or did Nielsen Business Media fell victim to a copycat? They did.
“Despite the blatant use of our name and logo Interbike and Nielsen Business Media are in no way involved with this event announced on Thursday February 19th”, said Rich Kelly, marketing manager of Nielsen Business Media.
The Australian show was announced to be targeted at manufacturers, suppliers, buyers, and retailers from around Australia as well as New Zeeland and Asia. The Australian show is scheduled before Eurobike and is taking place at August 16-17 in Melbourne.
Although not official it looks as if the organizers of the Interbike Australia are going to change the name of their show into Ausbike.
