ZEG Buys Veloland in France

ANNECY, France - 18 months after taking the first steps in the set-up of a partnership with the ZEG, the French Veloland retail organization has been taken over by the German dealer co-operative. The 16 shareholders of the company Veloland International have sold their shares to the ‘Zweirad Experten Gruppe’, ZEG.

Also as of now, Veloland becomes the official name for all French stores of the retail organization. With the ZEG participation in the retail organization these stores are profiting from the purchasing and logistical services of Europe’s biggest dealer co-operative; including the centralized payment and invoicing system.

The current number of Veloland outlets is expected to grow quickly to reach more than one hundred during the next two years. With that Veloland says in a press release that it will cover the whole of France with its retail network.

With the adoption of the Veloland name for all the current 70 stores also a new logo and graphics are introduced. That new logo is making a distinction between two shop concepts: one under the Veloland flag while the other is named Veloland City.

Under the Veloland format stores will operate whose surface is over 400 m². Veloland City is targeted to smaller stores.

With Veloland integrated in the ZEG the German based dealer co-operative is currently operating with nearly 1,000 sales outlets throughout Europe.
