Cycle Union Acquires Dutch Wholesaler Odice

DRACHTEN/OLDENBURG – The German family owned company Cycle Union is entering the Dutch market with the take-over of wholesaler Odice. Last February 20th Werner Forster (left) and Cycle Union, Severine Loenne both of Cycle Union and Ron Hout (right) of Odice signed the contract to finalize the take-over.

“The acquisition process has been settled very quickly”, said Ron Hout, who will continue to work at Odice. “The Dutch market has a lot of growth potential for the wholesaler and bicycle manufacturer Cycle Union. This acquisition is a major enlargement of their distribution area.”

Cycle Union owns a wide range of brands and products, like GT, VSF Fahrradmanufactur, Epple, Rabeneick, Kreidler, Epple Bike Parts and partners with SRAM, SR Suntour, Kore and Tektro. “We will only distribute the brands in the Netherlands which do not conflict with current local distributors”, said Ron Hout.

“In the next years we will expand our business by moving forward slowly but steadily as a part of the financially sound group Cycle Union.”

Cycle Union, located in the German town Oldenburg is an offspring of the former ‘Fachhandelszentrum Oldenburg und Memmingen’. Odice originate from a merge between the Dutch wholesalers Geertsma, Lakmaker Krommenie, EPI Kuiper and Edigro. Odice is located in the Northern town Drachten and employees 23 people.
