Tektro Opens New Factory
The Tektro Technology Corporation has officially opened its new factory for bicycle brakes in Changhua County, Taiwan. Two days before the start of the Taipei Cycle Show, the international bicycle industry gathered at Tektro’s ‘Grand Opening Party’.
The production facility of the new plant including in-house test facilities, measures 11,800 square meters plus some 2,940 square meters administration offices. This new facility which required a € 6.7 million investment, suits Tektro’s growth strategy of high end products.
According to owner Gary Chen Tektro Technology Corporation increased its turnover by 15-20% in 2007 and even 44% last year. To meet the growing sales and to improve product quality Tektro decided in 2007 to invest in this new factory. An important improvement of the quality could be realized by more in-house production and less out-sourcing.
Besides this new factory, Tektro has two other factories in mainland China each for the respective markets.
