HEERENVEEN, The Netherlands – Accell Group has bought the machinery for the production of steel mudguards from Dutch component maker Lepper VSL. This transaction follows after Lepper VSL was faced with financial difficulties.
With the acquisition of the equipment the holding company of bike manufacturers is securing a continued supply of steel mudguards to its affiliated companies. As there are a very limited number of manufacturers of steel mudguards in Europe also other than only Accell Group bike manufacturers will continue to be supplied with these mudguards. Orders, production and deliveries will be handled as usual by Lepper VSL and its MD Rudi Keulen.
This Dutch component maker has continued its operations (the company is next to mudguards also producing saddles) and is paying a fee to Accell Group for the use of the equipment. The production still takes place at the Lepper premises in Dieren, Holland. However, in the next 2 to 4 years this production has to move as new houses are to be built at Lepper’s current production location.
