TAICHUNG, Taiwan – All Taiwan OE mini shows taking place next December in Taichung, Taiwan will be held under one roof-organization called Taichung Bike Week.

Organizers Steve Fenton (Pro-Lite), Katerina Rejchrtova (WTB Europe) and Anne Wang of the Taichung City Government (photo), are setting further steps towards a new bike industry event. However, with its new course for further growth the mini shows have lost their founding farther as Mike Johnston is no longer taking part as Ride-On organizer.

Ride-On, First-in-Performance, Surf-On and of course the companies taking part in Taichung Bike Week have all agreed to join the roof-organisation. They unite in Taichung Bike Week in order to provide better communication with the industry and to coordinate their dates and special events.

Taichung Bike Week will this year take place December 5th – 13th, 2009. Locations are the Landis/Tempus and Splendor hotels in Taichung while the companies taking part in Ride-On will, as always, be in the Freshfields hotel also in Taichung. By the way; as Mike Johnston is no longer taking part in the event all matters concerning Ride-On are handled by the people at FSA in Europe, the US and Taiwan.

At the Landis/Tempus and Splendor hotels there’s still space available for OEM exhibitors interested in taking part in Taichung Bike Week, as organizer Steve Fenton informs. He says: “I have found a way to squeeze ten more companies in the Landis/Tempus and have a load of space to accommodate anyone who needs it at the Splendor.”

At last year’s mini shows more and more individual component companies showed up; putting a sign in the lobby which indicated that they were ready to meet product managers to tell them about their new components for model year 2010. It’s clear that for this year the organizers are aiming for more coordinated events in order to provide better communication and services to the targeted audience which are product managers of bike manufacturers and suppliers in Europe as well as the United States.
