ALKMAAR, The Netherlands – The biggest importer and wholesaler in The Netherlands, AGU, is changing the management of its holding company. The changes are instigated by the fact that the current MD, Peter Van Den Kommer intends to withdraw from leading the company within a couple of years.

In view of that two new directors are appointed: Dirk De Boer (52) and Patrick Ebbeling (40). They join the management board of AGU Holding BV. Both De Boer and Ebbeling are already for about ten years working at AGU at various management functions.

AGU BV is a family business which was run by both owners Jaap and Peter Van Den Kommer. The retirement of Jaap Van Den Kommer some years ago instigated a study into the future of the company that runs four subsidiaries. The evaluations prompted both owners to continue the company as a family business with a holding company structure.

That holding company will have a management board consisting of CEO Peter Van Den Kommer (61), COO Dirk De Boer and CCO (director commercial affairs) Patrick Ebbeling. Both De Boer and Ebbeling will also continue as directors of respectively AGU BV and Hesling Products BV. During the next two years Peter Van Den Kommer will gradually assign his responsibilities to the new COO and CCO.

AGU Holding operates four subsidiaries which are AGU BV, Jacobsons BV, Hesling Products BV and Van Megen Sports Group BV. These companies are based at five locations in The Netherlands and three in Belgium and Germany where 160 people are working. AGU Holding BV aims for a continued growth of its subsidiaries operating in the bike and sports sectors and wants to strengthen the company’s position in Europe.
